1 Corinthians 2:4 -7 – 4: And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5: that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 6 however, we do not speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
In the above scripture the bible highlights four types of wisdom. They are:
The human wisdom – every human being has this type of wisdom. For example when a baby is hungry, though it cannot talk, the baby instinctively cries to get attention. If a baby previously touched a hot object, any time it sees that object again it stays away from it because of what previously happened.
The wisdom of this age or the wisdom of the world – this is the skill set we get from being trained in our professions. As a plumber, nurse doctor, teacher or whatever your profession may be. The more skillful you are in your profession or your role, the wiser you are in that regard. This wisdom comes with training and experience.
The wisdom of the rulers of this age or diabolic or demonic wisdom – this wisdom comes from a demonic source. I always warn those that dabble into the psychic, occult, free mason, witchcraft, tarot card reading that such acts is an invitation of satanic force into their lives and homes; the repercussion are never good. While they will get something out of it, they will also lose the light of God and the blessing of God. The problem with this kind of wisdom is the source, the devil. Stay away from it. Unfortunately our media, movies and education encourage these things in the name of trying to broadening our minds. Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction.
The wisdom of God – This is the wisdom I defined at the beginning of this piece. This wisdom makes you see and do things like God. It is many sided and has infinite varieties. It is through this wisdom that we reign in this life over all odds. Jesus demonstrated this wisdom and the wisest people in his day were so surprised that they said ‘from whence comes this wisdom’. This is the type of wisdom that you have as a child of God. But you have to demonstrate it to make impact.
