The Right of Christians To Use The Name of Jesus
Today I will show you form the Bible the fourfold right to use the name of Jesus to obtain victory over the opposition and gain advantage in your day to day life.
You have right to use the name of Jesus, first ,on the ground our birthright. We have been birthed into the family of God and the name of Jesus belongs to the family.
John 1:12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
John 14:12-14 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Second, we are baptised into the name, and being baptised into the name, we are baptised into Jesus Christ himself.
Galatians 3:27 – For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Romans 6:3-4 – Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Third, the legal right to use His name was conferred upon us. Jesus gave us the power of attorney. He gave us the unqualified use of His name.
John 15:16 – You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
John 16:23 – And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
Fourth, we are commissioned as ambassadors to go and herald His name among the nations.
Mark 16:17-18 & 20 – And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
Luke 10:17-20 – 17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven
For the above stated reasons every individual child of God has the unrestricted use of the name of Jesus at all times and in every place. He is Lord of all and indeed the king of kings. You cannot overuse the name. You cannot exhaust the virtue it carries. You cannot wear out its potency. So keep using it and keeping getting results.
