The Habits and Customs of Jesus that attracts God’s Presence – 2
John 3: 34 – For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Jesus was a man of the word:
Luke 4:16-21 – 16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
A man’s habit shows what inhabits him. One of the customs or habits of Jesus was to go to house of God and read the word of God. You are what you eat. When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He responded with the word. The amount of the word of God you allow in you will determine the level of his presence you will activate. Depths determine height. Root determines fruit. Jesus was a word addict so the devil could not deceive Him. You will observe that the devil misquoted a scriptural verse (psalm 91:11-12) and manipulated it to tempt Jesus. But Jesus was and is smarter than the devil.
Jesus was a seeker of the presence of God
In the above scripture in verse 17, the bible said Jesus ‘found a place’ in the book of Isaiah. Pursuit is the proof of desire. Jesus sought details on what the presence of God upon Him will do. Only seekers find. There is difference between the presence of God within and the presence of God upon. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit so he had the presence of God within Him from birth but it was after the presence of God came upon him that everything changed. Notwithstanding that he was the son of God, he still sought and desired the presence of the father. To carry and manifest God’s presence on a consistent basis, you need to want to go deeper with Him a constant basis.
Jesus acknowledged and affirmed God’s presence with Him
Jesus was always conscious of the presence of God with him and the difference it makes. He said he was one with the father, he said the God was always with Him, he said the spirit of God was upon, he said God glorifies him, he said his word are full of the spirit of God. Everyone word you say affirms and acknowledges something. And it is what you affirm that is confirmed and what you confirm is what is established.
