The benefits of meditating on God’s word

Encounter with the word of God never leaves anyone the same. The following are some the benefits of meditating in God’s word.

Joy and delight – Jeremiah 15:16 – When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.

Success and prosperity – Joshua 1:8 – This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

It brings satisfaction – Psalm 63:5-6 – 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

It gives you understanding – Psalm 119:99 – I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

It helps you develop control over your thoughts, emotions, will and soul – Psalm 119:11 – Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Transformation – Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

It helps you develop Godly vocabulary and power in your words.:- Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

It quickens your spirit being – Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
