How to Activate the Anointing – Part 1
The book of 2nd Corinthians 1:21 establishes the truth that everyone is anointed.
When the anointing is in a place, burdens should be removed and yokes destroyed. Things should happen.
Why then are things not happening around you, even though you are anointed?
Because you are not skilled in the act of activating the anointing.
Activating the anointing is an act and skill that must be learnt.
The bible in John 18:15-18, records how Simon Peter, a disciple of Jesus, denied Him.
However, in Acts 5:15, the shadow of this same Simon Peter delivered people.
He was the same Man, had the same name, same family and same lineage.
He got skilled in the act of activating the anointing.
In the above scripture, Jesus healed an epileptic boy, who His disciples could not heal.
When the disciples asked Jesus why they could not heal the boy, he said ” Because of your unbelief”.
He did not say they wouldn’t be able to do it. He expected them to be able, even while he was with them.
What are the skills you need to develop that will enable you activate the anointing, and produce results?
1. ACKNOWLEDGE IT
You must acknowledge that you are anointed.
Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free”. (Luke 4:18).
He said it himself.
“I am the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6a)
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Why did Jesus keep saying who He was, and what He was?
It may sound like He was braggadocious, but no, He was operating that principle to turn on the anointing.
After He declared to Mary and Martha that He is the resurrection and life, He raised Lazarus from the dead.
He had to acknowledge, in order to activate the anointing.
2. STIR IT UP
The anointing you posses right now must be constantly stirred up.
2nd Timothy 1:6
Ways to stir up the anointing.
a) Fasting and Prayer.
Fasting and prayer activates your spirituality and sensitivity to the spirit.
b) Praying in tongues.
c) Through Meditation and declaration.
When you meditate on God’s word and declare it, the power of God falls.
When you declare the Word, you throw out arrows.
God told me this, “when you speak my Word in your mouth, it will come to pass”.
Most of the victories and breakthroughs I have received in my life came when I kept speaking the Word.
The Word begun to push boundaries, and caused many outstanding things to happen.
Remember, you are not a biological accident, but a creature of destiny.
