Redeemed !  Part 2

Thessalonian 5:23 – Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Roman 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Yesterday we learnt that we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. The curse of the law is summarised as spiritual death, sickness and poverty. But our redemption is not complete unless we know what we have been redeemed into and how to walk and access it.

What have we been redeemed into? Eternal life, life as God has it. It includes divine life, divine health, and supernatural provision. Galatians 3:29, Deuteronomy 28:1-14, 2 Corinthians 5:17-22, outline some of what we have been redeemed into.  In Christ we have been redeemed into the very life of God in every area of our lives, spirit, soul and body.  At salvation our dead human spirit came alive when we accepted Christ. At that very moment Jesus Christ came into our spirit and took residence. If your spiritual eyes are opened, then you will see Jesus Christ in living in your spirit but most people don’t know. As a result they think they are still who they were prior to salvation. Whereas they are now spiritually alive to God and carry the very nature and potential of Christ in them. This divine life and potential will remain dormant unless we become aware of our new nature in Christ through the revelation of God’s word. If you have given your life to Jesus Christ, he is resident inside you right now. You need to develop a new mindset in accordance with the new life you have in Christ, in order for you to respond to Christ when he is guiding you in your day to day life. Through feeding on God’s word in the area of your new identity in Christ, you develop faith in the resident Christ and cooperate with Him to enjoy all the benefits that redemption has for you.

Galatians 2:20 – so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.
