Redeemed! Part 1
Psalm 107:2 – Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
Galatians 3: 13-14 – Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The word redeem means to buy out, especially of purchasing a slave with a view to his freedom. To release on receipt of ransom. To set at liberty after a price is paid.
Jesus Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law. What is the curse of the law you may ask? The curse of the law is the punishment or repercussion of breaking God’s law. The repercussion of Adam breaking God’s law was separation from God and expulsion from the Garden of Eden and the worst of it all was that the devil became the Lord of Adam and his descendants, (the entire human race and the world system). Some of the physical consequence of the breaking the law are outlined in Genesis 3:9-19 and Deuteronomy 28:15-68. The curse of the law or the consequences of breaking God’s law are in threefold, spiritual death, sickness and poverty. The curse of the law affects every fibre of the human life, spirit, soul and body.
But Jesus came to redeem us from the curse of the law. And to redeem us he had to pay a price. The bible declares that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. And the life of the flesh is in the blood. To shed his blood, he had to give his life in order to pay the price of redemption. We have been redeemed from the curse of the law but we cannot activate our redemption without believing and saying it.
You need to believe and know that the sacrifice of Jesus is more than sufficient to redeem you. Then you need to now believe that you redeemed and see yourself as redeemed, even if you don’t feel or look that way yet. Redemption begins from within in your spirit and then flows into your soul and then into your body and become obvious to the world around you. You have been redeemed, you are not going to be redeemed, you are already redeemed. Jesus paid the ultimate price for your redemption so claim your freedom from hell, sickness and poverty now. Friend, redemption is not complete without divine restoration. You need to be restored back to the original life that God planned for Adam in the Gardenof Eden. So start walking in the liberty that Christ has provided you.
