Glory be to the most high God who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. He is an awesome God and the bible declares that He “daily loadeth us with benefits” Psalm 68:19.
Psalm 36:8 says “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shall make them drink of the river of thy pleasures” . This scripture powerfully depicts the image of the caliber of abundance we are talking about and it also shows us that there is a connection between this abundance and the house of God. So a crucial point to take on board amongst other things is the house of God.
But first, let us look at a few fundamental issues that will help position you and I for this promised abundance.
UNDERSTAND THAT GOD WANTS YOU TO LIVE IN ABUNDANCE
Psalm 35:27 says “He taketh pleasure in your Prosperity”. quite a sizable number of believers find it difficult to believe that God actually want them to do well and live a life of abundance. This becomes all the more so when they take a quick glance at their current quality of life. Child of God, the circumstances around you may be a direct contravention of God’s promise of abundance but you must refuse to surrender yourself to want and squalor because the bible says, “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want” Psalm 23:1.
3 John 1:2 says “He wishes ABOVE ALL THINGS that you may prosper.” Did you read ABOVE ALL THINGS? This means it is top on God’s plan for you to live the abundant life. So don’t let circumstances or anyone sell you in on the idea that you are not in God’s agenda for abundance. That is a blatant lie from the depths of hell.
THE FOUNDATION FOR ABUNDANCE IS OBEDIENCE
Isaiah 1:9 says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.”
Job 36:11 says, “IF THEY OBEY AND SERVE HIM, they shall spend their days in prosperity and years in pleasure.”
Disobedience was what launched mankind into lack and want as can be understood from the fall of man in Eden. Disobedience still posses the unbelievable capability of holding man in captivity. While the Lord Jesus has paid the price for our emancipation from the tyranny of lack and despondency, we must sustain our freedom by following the path of obedience. Besides obedience, another matter of grave importance is SERVICE. The second scripture above talks about how obedience must be accompanied by service.
While it is true that God is extravagant, He is not wasteful and will not lavish His resources on individuals who think little of his Kingdom or would you bestow your goods on anyone who does not take you seriously or contribute meaningfully to what you cherish? I guess not. So the question that quickly surfaces here is: How are you serving or are you even serving at all? You may not know this but poverty is a reflection of an internal spiritual condition. We therefore need to evaluate ourselves spiritually.
Think on these things and the Lord will give you understanding in Jesus’ precious name!
