Pleasing God – giving Him your Trust

Proverbs 16:7 – When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Hebrews 11:5 – By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Friend, you cannot lead the mob if you are in the mob. You cannot live like the world and expect to get a better result than them. You cannot outsmart the devil in the game of sin and worldliness. The only safe place for any Christian is God’s path.

Pleasing God is by choice and giving Him our utmost is what gets His attention. In scriptures, we see that David, psalmist made a decision to please God with all he was and all he had. No wonder God called him a man after His own heart.

Enoch chose to please God and God was so pleased with Him He didn’t allow him to see death. He was busy pleasing God and God just relocated him to heaven because he brought Him so much pleasure. Friend, if you please God there is no way the any evil can subdue you. When you please God he will open you up to a new world of revelation and insight into divine treasures. You will find out how to undertake seemingly impossible tasks. There is nobody that decides to please God wholeheartedly that ends up with a miserable life.

The psalmist says in Psalm 37:25 “once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly forsaken, nor seen their children begging for bread”. So the way out and above the beggarly elements of this world is Godliness. A Godly lifestyle makes you ever relevant. Imagine Abraham, Isaac, David and all the matriarchs and patriarchs, they lived thousands of years ago yet they are still relevant today and we are still learning from their lives all because they chose to live a Godly life. They were not the only ones that lived in their days but they are the only ones we refer to most of the time. Friend, if you want to be generationally relevant and be a permanent point of reference like Paul, Peter, John etc you have to make the decision today to live a Godly life. Because God is the only one that was, that is and that is to come, by choosing a godly lifestyle you put a seal of permanence on your life and destiny. Such that anywhere God is mentioned you will have your rightful place.

Godliness does not only make you Godly it also adds you into the hall of fame of men and women whose mark can never be erased. When you decide to please God you decide to put aside your interest and make His interest first. You make what pleases Him what pleases you. That is sacrifice. It means you die to your personal desire so that His personal desire may prevail because you cannot serve two masters. Then all that are opposing you will fall like a pack of cards because God will begin to fight for you. Every time Israel put God first He put them far above all their enemies. He makes their enemies His enemies. Pleasing God is intentional and deliberate and not accidental. I want you to make a conscious decision today to live a life pleasing to God and see your world open up to you.
