JOY! AN EXPRESSION OF YOUR DIVINITY – Part 2
You may be going through some difficulties or challenges that should naturally make you feel sad or down emotionally but because you are of the Spirit and you operate from the internal through the Spirit and the Joy expressed through your spirit overshadows your natural emotions. What you display externally contradicts what is happening externally.
I will also liken joy to a biological secretion called hormones. These are internally secreted compounds, as insulin or thyroxin, formed in endocrine glands, that affect the functions of specifically receptive organs or tissues when transported to them by the body fluids. Hormones are secreted internally and determines what we do externally, they account for all of our emotional displays such as sadness, happiness, anger, nervousness and the likes. So I see Joy as a secretion that comes from our spirit which affects our external expression. Hormones are secreted in response to external or internal changes to correct and to stabilize. The Holy Spirit in you is alive and bubbling and will not allow any external condition to change that, therefore, Joy is secreted to maintain and stabilize the nature and disposition of the your spirit. Joy as a noun is a thing that you have. It comes from your spirit and has the ability to determine your mood and consequently change what is happening around you, when you constantly walk in the spirit you produce Joy that diffuse it into your environment, people see you and testify that you carry a joyous disposition at all times and they find it difficult to comprehend. Why? Yes people expect you to be human at times and display negative emotions, this is what happens when you walk in the flesh or follow the dictates of your flesh but remember you are divine and your divinity supersedes your mortality, you operate from the spirit and not from the flesh, your emotion is spiritually controlled and not externally regulated. Joy is like a thermostat that regulates the temperature of the surrounding and not a thermometer that responds to the temperature of the surrounding. With the spirit of Joy you can determine your mood and change the mood of people around you. The bible says, the spirit of the Lord God is upon me for he has anointed me to give people Joy instead of mourning (Isaiah 61:3) paraphrased. Joy is a game changer; it determines happenings and not the other way. Galatians 2:16 says, If we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit. Friends, it’s high time we manifested to the world who we are and what we are and one of the outward displays of our inward manifestation is the expression of the Joy of the Holy Spirit. The big question is; how can I be joyful when things are not working the way I want them to, how can I express Joy when I am going through challenges and why should I anyway? These and many more questions will be answered in subsequent editions. I pray the Joy of the Lord will be your strength and the power of the Holy Ghost will overshadow you and bring you out with a strong and mighty hand out of any form of difficulty you may find yourself and settle you into your place of enlargement in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
