Greatness Beckons on You
Luke 1:32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David
The bible is replete with stories of men and women who achieved greatness through the enablement of God. Many of these people were some of the most unlikely candidates for greatness. Many of them were beset with personality problems, some were grossly lacking in talent, others were rejects and still there were those who came from the minority. A typical example would be David, a young lad who was not very liked by his elder brothers but found comfort only amongst his father’s flock. It might have been an escape hatch for him away from the verbal intimidation and harassments of his siblings.
David was an exceptional reject so much that his father thought little of him when greatness came calling. But like most other stories of greatness in scripture these individuals were transformed into people of achievement when the anointing decreed their rising.
Jesus our messiah is another exceptional example. He was born in very laughable circumstances. He was not given to rich parents and his foster father was an artisan who was way down below on the economic food chain of the time because he was just a neighborhood carpenter and fixer. That will qualify him to be eminently called a commoner. His life was shrouded in obscurity for three decades except for a brief moment of intelligent show of understanding when he was twelve. His life must have really been a blur without much to warrant attention of any kind. But all that change when the anointing cracked the shell that held his greatness on the inside.
When the Holy Spirit sprang unto the scene we immediately began to read things like …” And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. Mark 1:28.
This is what the anointing does to ordinary people, it turns you into a force to be reckoned with.
Friend, let it be known unto you that God has decreed your rising and he has anointed you for it. By covenant Jesus paid the full price to remove every strain of ordinariness from your life. Never look down on yourself or cheapen your value because of your background or perceived inadequacies. No, you were created and anointed for greatness.
Someone might be saying “oh, you don’t know me, I am so messed up and good for nothing, If you knew what I did you wouldn’t be saying this to me, if you knew where I have been you would retract your talk of greatness”. You know what? You are not alone. David also messed up a couple of times but he didn’t stay messed up because God cleaned him up and led him to achieve greatness nonetheless.
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you…” 1John 2:27. God has apportioned to you and abiding anointing that guarantees your ascendancy. When the anointing finds a man, it is for elevation and for greatness. Embrace your destiny in God! He has chosen you and anointed you to deliver results that will get the attention of your world and bring glory to his name.
It’s your time to shine! You are destined for greatness!
