In Exodus 25:9, ‘According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the Instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it…..’
Ex 36:1-2 (NIV), ‘So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded. Then Moses summoned Bezaleel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given ability and who was willing to come and do the work……’
There was a purpose in the mind of God before creating you. He allowed you to appear on this side of Heaven so as to ensure the fulfillment of His purpose. God placed this purpose right in the middle of your heart so that you can easily locate it and often times He allows you to catch a glimpse of this purpose in form of a vision or dream. No man is without a vision; the problem is that not every man has discovered their vision. Perhaps you are in this class, you need not look too far, just look inward and search around and you will discover that an individual’s vision will always be found in a larger or corporate vision.
It is not God’s method to give vision to a group. God gives vision to an individual who shares his vision with the group and transfers it to them. The members of the group buy into it and begin to run with the vision because they find in it a place for their individual visions to be fulfilled. Every corporate vision, be it a ministry or profit making organization all starts as an individual or personal vision which was sold to a larger public and when people began to buy into this vision, it grows and becomes ‘OUR VISION’.
We see from the above scriptures that God gave Moses a vision to build the temple according to what was shown to him on the mountain. We understand that when God gives a vision, he also makes provision for the vision. Often times the provision is distributed in the hands of others rather than the carrier of the Vision. Bezaleel, Oholiab and other guys who had the skill for construction were called into the vision because God equipped them before hand for this purpose and they discovered the fulfillment of their visions in the cooperate vision of building the temple. You will also see in Exodus 25:1-8 that God instructed Moses to call on the Children of Israel and collect offerings from all that were willing to support the Vision.
Note that the success of the corporate vision depends largely on the personal visions that find expressions in the larger vision. We see here a symbiotic kind of relationship where the success of one depends on the success of the other. It’s therefore wrong for a carrier of a personal vision to begin to feel used when in actual fact he is only expressing his own skills and talents within the corporate vision, which if properly harnessed will one day develop and become another corporate vision.
This is exactly how God weaves personal and corporate visions together to accomplish a general purpose. It is therefore worth noting that when you find yourself in a corporate vision like ours, the best is expected of you because everything you do will be a seed sown into your own future. No wonder Jesus said in Luke 16:12 ‘And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
Note that it was not Bezaleel and Oholiab alone that did the work; there were other guys who the bible referred to as OTHERS. Although the bible records that these guys were also as skilful as Bezaleel and Oholiab but their names were not mentioned, not because they did not take part but it could be that their contribution was not significant enough to merit being mentioned in the story. You can make yourself very significant in the vision when you give your very best and become outstanding in whatever you do. I want to charge you to get sold out to this vision for in it you’ll find your own vision and when you do; you would have found fulfillment.
