2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Check out some of the dictionary meaning of an ambassador; A diplomatic official of the highest rank, sent by one sovereign or state to another as its resident representative (ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary). In Christ Jesus, you are an ambassador of the highest rank sent to this world to represent heaven with full executive power.
A diplomatic official of the highest rank sent by a government to represent it on a temporary mission. In Christ Jesus you are an Ambassador sent to the earth on a temporary basis to fulfill a mission.
So then if we are ambassadors for Christ, then it means our true citizenship is not here on earth, Phillipians 3:20, we belong to God and hail from our Kingdom in heaven. We are here on a mission to reconcile citizens of our mission country with our home country. We are here to maintain a bi-lateral relationship between our country and our foreign country. We are here to propagate and entrench the values and ideals of our home country in this foreign country. We are here to replenish and fill up this place with like minded people by replicating the Zoe life that we have. We are here to subdue and not to be subdued. We are here to dominate and not to be dominated, we are here to conquer and not to be conquered. We are here as victorious people and not a victim. We are here to replenish the earth and not to deplete it. We are here to reign as Kings and priests and not as subjects. Friend our mission is clear and not to be misconstrued. This is who we are in Christ and anything less than that is a slap on our redemption.
As ambassadors we enjoy varying privileges that will help us to facilitate our mission and one of the greatest privileges enjoyed by an ambassador or a diplomat is what we call diplomatic immunity which includes but not limited to the following; exemption from taxation laws, searches, arrest, etc., this is enjoyed by diplomatic officials and their dependent families under international Law. Exemption from criminal prosecution or legal liability or punishment on certain conditions. As a citizen of heaven and an ambassador for Christ, we enjoy divine immunity which exonerates us from the laws governing this world. Note when I say laws I do not mean we become lawless citizens of our country of residence. This world is controlled by spiritual laws instituted by the ruler of the world which is the devil. Ephesians 6:12, There is a law that governs every sphere of this world, politics, finance, health, and there is the law of sin and death Romans 8:2, but praise God we are not under these laws, we operate under the law of our kingdom, the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. As an heavenly diplomat, we operate the economy of our kingdom, we enjoy divine provision and supplies, our kingdom will ensure we don’t lack and suffer hunger. The lord will supply all of our needs according to his riches in glory not according to the economy of this world Phillipians 4:19.
As diplomats, we enjoy immunity against sickness and diseases, Deuteronomy 7:15. Our King will ensure we constantly live in perfect state of health to carry out our mission.
As diplomats, we enjoy divine protection against any aggressive attack. If in any way our security is breached, our King can despatch soldiers from our kingdom to rescue us. The bible says He will give his angels charge over us. Our homes, children and families are not left out in this divine protection. Our identity makes us untouchable. All of these privileges are meant to ensure that we live here on earth like we should live if we were in our kingdom and become the envy of the populace around us and by this convert and reconcile them to our Kingdom which is our ultimate mission. May the Lord bless the works of your hand in Jesus name.
