Diligence: The Pathway to Excellence

24 May

Proverbs 22:29

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

Diligence can be defined as doing something with care and effort. Not just doing it but doing it with care and effort. Over the years I have seen many hardworking and scripture-quoting Christians making no form of headway. I will not shy away from telling you that I was equally a victim of this heartache.

But thank God I came out by reason of insight. Please note that we win in life by discoveries. Your degree of light determines the brightness of your life. It is your depth that determines your height in life.

I found out that hard work does not always culminate in success or excellence. Even in some cases hard work is only an extension of existing hardship. I found out that I need a strategy in all my work and dealings. The scripture clearly says the labour of the fool wearies all of them because he does not KNOW HOW to get to the city. So strategy is the HOW TO, and I pray that you will not run in vain.

To every work there is a skill required and behind every excellent performance is strategic work and organised rhythm. After I made this discovery I began to sit down and seek God’s face and ask Him for the strategy required to accomplish whatever He shows or lays in my heart.

Strategy is a set out plan in achieving a major goal. If you don’t know where you are going you will never know when you arrive there. I want to encourage you that regardless of your vision and the sincerity of your desire you will suffer unnecessary pain if you don’t have a plan and strategic approach to achieving your goals. It is not enough to have a goal and desire great things but you also need to sit down first and count the pros and cons of your desired goal. Have a plan in your head and the Holy Spirit in your heart.

You must have established a set plan and a reasonable one because if you have not been on level 1 and you now set a goal for level 30 you are creating unrealistic and apparently unachievable goals and wasting your time. For example a man that has not successfully lived by faith with a job how would he live by faith without a job? He is only fooling himself, time will prove him wrong.

After you have set out a reasonable plan of action then you need to unleash your energy to work as hard as you can and with God’s supernatural support you will succeed, not just because you are a child of God but a diligent and wise child. I see you work diligently and achieve excellent results in all you do in Jesus mighty name!
