Genesis 1:27 -So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.

When a child is born into a family, it becomes obvious who the child resemble. It’s either the father or mother. The child grows into an adult and boldly declares ‘you need to see my father, I look exactly like him’. He begins to manifest the character of the father or mother as the case may be.
While it’s easy to know who we look like physically on earth, it has become a major challenge for Christians to know who they look like spiritually. Your real identity can only be revealed to you by a deep revelation and understanding of who you are in Christ.
We have been created in the image of our heavenly father and also share the same DNA with him therefore Christians are supernatural beings not ordinary. We have the mind of Christ so we think like him and greater works than he did on earth, we have been given the power to do. God created man to have unique characteristics and purpose. The more we discover our true identity, the more closely we are drawn to him.

The prodigal son knew who he was despite the fact that he had gone very far from home but his identity wouldn’t let him live among swine for long. He came back to his senses and returned to his father. He was then restored to his position in his father’s kingdom. He was back to his identity. Some Christians still live with swine (SIN). Until you return to your spiritual father, you will not live the supernatural life that Christ has prepared for you on earth. Heb 9:14

When you know who you are, you will know who you are not. Knowing your true identity in Christ will determine your position on issues, view, attitude, reaction and more. After we realize who we are in Christ, the Word of God becomes our guide through life not textbooks and philosophies.

God has deposited massive treasures in us (Christians) but this can only be manifested the minute we realize what we carry and that our real identity is the identity of Christ.
