The Pastor’s on divine provision made a great impression upon my heart and the key words that caught my attention were in Genesis 1-3, which are fruitfulness, multiplication and dominion. From this chapters, we discover that the original intention of God’s plan for man is prosperity and this indeed showed in the master works of God as He created the heavens, the earth (and all the wonderful creations in it), man and the garden of Eden. God created all things for man; all things were created for man to dominate. Man was made to serve God and enjoy His presence. The wealth of the earth was created to serve man and for man to enjoy. But when man fell by disobeying God’s instructions, all he was to enjoy freely was misplaced and lost, please note that God did not take anything away from Adam man walked away from all that God created and gave to him. All of those things God had no use for them, so it’s safe to say that Adam lost it and Satan took it. The sin of Adam made God curse him and the curse released the spirit called Poverty. It is then written in Genesis that the earth will not easily yield to man and he would toil the earth with sweat on his face before he could eat bread but, thank God for Christ who has redeemed us from the curse by becoming the propitiation for our sins.

Poverty can simply be defined as lack of productivity of the mind that causes lack irrespective of hard work. It is the situation where there is futility in the working of the mind as regards to the creation of ideas that turn a negative situation around. Poverty is a dangerous spirit that limits a man; it strangles a man’s potentials, wrestles with his mind and overpowers his ability to produce a breakthrough for himself. Poverty is an evil spirit that possesses the mind, a dangerous spirit indeed. I have learnt overtime that a man is not poor because he has no money in his pocket; a man is poor because he lacks the capacity to bring forth ideas. Ideas are the wealth of the mind that overpowers poverty. Ideas work based on principles. These principles are steps that if followed will eventually cause unlimited wealth. Poverty is not God-made, it is a result of man’s disobedience, for it is written, if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat from the good of the land. Adam was unwilling and disobedient, so man caused poverty but Christ has conquered poverty for us. It is clear that the devil will do all he can to make life difficult for any man to produce anything good, his joy is to see the master art of God; man, suffer immensely and to see good things destroyed beyond usefulness but the devourer has been rebuked for our sake! The thought of God towards us is of good and not of evil; therefore, knowing that God’s greatest wish is to see us prosper and be in good health even as our SOUL (mind) prospers, then it is safe to say that it is left to man to prosper from the state of bareness with ideas and principles.
