Philemon 1:6 – …that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

I have met quite a number of people that wonder about the love of God for them. They say, “If God loves me, why did He allow this or that to happen to me or my family?” They use their circumstances to determine whether or not God loves them. When things are good, then God is good, when things are bad, then God is not so good.

Friend, God is love and He loves you completely. He has no hate in Him towards you. Another thing I want you to know is that God does not control your circumstances. He has given you the power to control them in cooperation with Him. He does not leave you alone; He waits for you to get Him involved in your business in order to work together with you.

Luke 10:18-19 – And He said to them, “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

After God created Adam, He gave him dominion over everything. So, you have dominion in Christ. The revelation of God’s love for you activates confidence in you and gives you peace in the midst of the storm. When you understand how much God loves you and His integrity, you will always see victory in every battle. The people that focus solely on their circumstances become victims of circumstances, but the people that focus on God being with them, will emerge as winners because, if God is for you, who can be against you?

Develop God consciousness and not problem consciousness. Grow your faith in God’s love for you. You do this by reading God’s word and see how He has demonstrated His love for people in the past. Listen to people’s testimony of God’s goodness to them and then put yourself in the picture as next in line for the manifestation of God’s love in your life. God is always pouring out His love but the majority of people are clouded by pictures of history of defeat and current situation. You must take courage. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. In the midst of your changing circumstances, God remains the same and His love for you is never changing. Start acknowledging that God’s love for you is permanent. Accept it and believe in the love of God for you.

Questions for you to reflect on:

  • How certain are you about God’s love for you?
  • Do you doubt God’s love for you? If yes, why? If no why?
