Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

WHY DID JESUS CHRIST COME? Part 2

WHY DID JESUS CHRIST COME? Part 2

JANUARY 6

John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Continuing from the last message, today, we will continue exploring the reason why God sent Jesus Christ to the earth. From the above scriptures, it is clear that God sent Jesus Christ to show us how much He loves us. God was on a love exposition mission. The Bible makes it clear that love covers a multitude of sins and love does not keep record of wrong. Love rejoices in good and is kind.

God knew that through the fall of Adam, mankind was doomed. So He set up the plan of redemption. After Adam committed treason in the Garden of Eden, all that Adam and humanity deserved were condemnation and judgement. God, being a God of justice, had to see to it that man paid for his sins. This is where the sacrifice of Jesus Christ came into the picture. Jesus gave himself up as the substitute to stand condemned and judged in the place of man. He took our punishment and paid the price for our sins. He paid the debt we owed and gave us a new start before God, and devil no longer has a case against humanity. We are now free from our sins and cleansed from our iniquity. God did all these to show us His love for us. Unfortunately, many are not aware of how much God loves them. Very few have experienced the love of God in the true sense of it. To enjoy the love God has for you, you firstly need to be aware of it. Then you have to believe and receive it. Many say, ‘… but I don’t deserve it.’ No one does : it is by His grace through faith.

I encourage you to take time to think on how much God loves you that He gave His best gift to you so that you will not perish but have eternal life. Eternal life in Greek is ZOE, life as God has it. The God’s quality of life has been deposited in your human spirit. You now need to let it out and give it freedom of expression. Eternal life is heaven’s life and has been brought into the earth. That has always been God’s plan : to give us heaven on earth. He has always wanted to establish His kingdom on earth through mankind. Now through the believers in Christ, He is gradually doing it.  Eternal life is the exclusive preserve of only those that believe in Christ and its substitutionary work. It is not just believing but right believing. You need to believe that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is for you and is sufficient. You need to believe that His death and resurrection have paid the price for your sins and you are free from judgement and now you are righteous in Christ. You need to believe that eternal life is now yours and you have access to the benefits of heaven from now onward.

In conclusion, I want you to know that you are the crown of God’s creation and the object of His affection. God loves you as much as He Love Jesus.
