Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

What Hurts God The Most? When We Doubt Him

Hebrew 11:6

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The above scriptures illustrate that nothing pleases God like faith and nothing displeases Him like unbelief. Faith believes that GOD stands by his word regardless of what circumstances say. When I say your circumstances I mean your bank statement, your body, your boss, your car or anything in the physical that goes against your knowledge of God’ promises.

Some years ago I got a job and I was told my contract was a temporary one, meaning I could be sacked or relieved at any time. Every 6 months they renew the contract. But one Friday I got a letter telling me that my contract expires the next Monday. Prior to that I believed I would be made permanent and sensed that God had given me a permanent job so I thought very soon they would make me a permanent staff. I really enjoyed the job and the people were really good to me; but staring me in the face was a sack letter. Immediately what God impressed in my heart about a permanent job sprang up in my heart and mind. I took the letter and tore it in two pieces, my colleagues thought I was crazy. The other person in the same situation as me was worried because she just bought a house and didn’t know how to go about paying her mortgage.

Suddenly one of our bosses came around and said he is not going to allow us to be sacked because he felt he was not duly informed, so our contracts were extended by another six months. All this while though I was happy for having a job and a six-month contract extension, my main focus was on the promise God made for a permanent contract. So after the next six months they let us go. Humanly speaking it was so hard and tough because it appeared all hope was lost and the end had come but I stood on the promise of God in the midst of the mess.

During the previous six months I did several interviews and I was always among the top five but most of the time they only wanted 1 to 3 persons, but on the week I finished my contract I was called for an interview for a job, with more pay and a permanent status. Although everything looked out of order, I went for the interview believing the promise God made to me about 18 months earlier.

Friends they drilled me and asked me tough questions but I was more than able for them through Christ. Normally if you come first in an interview they call you that same day but I didn’t get a call. So about 3 days later I called and I was told that out of the 52 applicants I came first. Now that’s faith in action in the face of adversity and financial hardship. But how can I have this kind of faith you may ask? Guess what? You already have the same kind of faith you just need to build it because ‘God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith’ (Romans 12:3b). God has given to every believer the same measure of faith but we have to build our faith through continuously hearing the word of faith. ‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ (Romans 10:17).
