Galatians 3:13-14, ‘Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of
Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
What is my stake? How am I linked to the covenant? I am because I am born
again and I am redeemed. Redeemed from what? From the curse that came
upon Adam which was passed down to all generations after him. The result
of the curse is scarcity with lack and for anyone to work in the original
dominion which God gave to Adam before the fall, the curse has to be
removed. Why? This is because no one can have the combination of the
curse and the blessing together. One has to be removed for the other to rest.
This was exactly the mission of Christ, the burden Remover and yoke
Destroyer. He became the curse in your place, He removed it and nailed it to
the cross so that there would be room for the blessing to rest on you. The
blessing of Abraham came on you instead of the curse. The blessing is a
benefit of the covenant that God had with Abraham. Genesis 12 and 13.
Genesis 22:16-17 …because of the blessing, Abraham became very rich in
gold and silver which are the equivalent of money and that is financial
dominion. So, it is the blessing that makes rich and does not add sorrows to
22 Proverbs 10:22.
Breaking news! Money will not make you rich, it is the blessing of the Lord
and nothing more. So, if you want to enjoy true riches that endure, sorrow
free, trouble free and stress free, go after the blessing and not after the
money. Having money does not mean you have the blessing but having the
blessing and appropriating the blessing will ensure you have money more than
enough for you and much more to spread around. Say this out loud, ‘I have
the blessing of the Lord, and by this I am becoming rich in all things.’
How does the blessing make rich? The blessing is the anointing or the
endowment to prosper. It may be intangible and invisible but its effects are. It
is like the invisible coat of many colours of Joseph that is on you and makes
everything to work in your favour, just like it did for Joseph. Even when the
physical coat was removed by his brothers, the invisible coat was still on him
and was making things to work for him such that every where he found
himself, the blessing pushed him to the top.
In Potiphar’s house, he became the head servant because he possessed wisdom to manage affairs of the house, administrative skills and his loyalty was unquestionable until he was
framed up and accused wrongly. In the prison, he came on top because of these skills and in addition, because of the gifts of dreams and interpretation of dreams. All these skills, gifts and talents are as a result of the blessing.
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we
might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
If you look at the above Scripture, you will observe that the receiving of the
promise of the Spirit through faith can only be actualized after we have
received the blessing. The reason you are filled with the Holy Spirit today is
because the curse has been removed and you have the blessing. Having the
Holy Spirit is having the power, the spirit of knowledge, wisdom and
understanding. Having the Holy Spirit is having access to the mind of God.
Having the Holy Spirit is having the same ability that Jesus had when He was
here. He knew what to do when He was faced with a financial challenge. He
knew the right buttons to press to make things happen. The Scripture says in
1 Corinthians 2:12 – Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but
the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given
to us of God.
Since you have moved from curse to blessing, you have the Spirit of God to
direct and lead you into all that God has reserved for you to prosper, you have
the Spirit to tell you what to do and when to move. Friend, this is awesome!
The Bible says in Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed [be] the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
[places] in Christ: if the blessing is in the spiritual realm, then we need to
bring it into the physical realm and that can only be done by the Spirit. So,
what does the blessing do? It gives room for the Spirit to rest upon you and
by the Spirit, you have access to heavenly treasures and riches.
Questions for Reflection:
- Do you know that your salvation is what qualifies you for the blessing?
- Do you know that God is concerned about your finances?
Deuteronomy 8:18, 2 Corinthians 8:9
Say this out loud: The curse has been removed, now I have the blessing that
makes rich. I have the Spirit that gives access to divine abundance and
financial victory in Jesus’ name.
