Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

The Where and Why of Loyalty

The Where and Why of Loyalty

Where does loyalty begin? It starts with God. In John 3:16, the Bible says ‘for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’. From this scripture, you can see that God’s loyalty to the sinful world was revealed through His devotion to our redemption. God is loyal to us individually. He is attentive to my needs and your needs at all times. He showed loyalty to us when we were disloyal to Him. God is always loyal to man but man is not always loyal to God.

Why loyalty? Loyalty is key to stability in any relationship. It breeds unshakable trust. Where there is no loyalty i.e. devotion, success is short-lived. Loyalty (devotion) is the engine that drives any organisation or relationship forward. Loyalty is not loyalty if it is divided. It is total commitment to a vision, relationship and God that is called loyalty. On and off commitment is not commitment at all. The Bible indicates in Revelation 3:15-16 that God hates ‘luke-warmness’ and will not entertain it in any shape or form. Loyalty is the pacesetter for undeniable, consistent success.

The Bible, speaking about the devotion of the people who were to build the tower of Babel in the book of Genesis 13, states that nothing will be restrained from them that they have imagined. It is their devotion to their goal that makes them unstoppable. If you want to be unstoppable, if you want the church to grow and grow it is time to concentrate your energy solely on enforcing the vision. You can do this by carrying the anointing of God to your office, home and all other areas of your life until the people around you begin to ask you to tell them about the grace of God at work in your life. A wise man said “if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything”. What do you stand for? What kind of impact are you making on the organisation, church etc. that you belong; are you a blessing or a burden? How loyal are you?

From reading the scriptures, I noted that only the people that are part of an organisation or previously part of it can be loyal or disloyal to it. The people that never had allegiance to a place do not have the obligation to be loyal to the place. So, loyalty or disloyalty is specific to participants in a relationship or member of an organisation. To ask members of staff of one company to make another company their first allegiance is technically treason. In the same light, for any one of us to make any other vision his first allegiance is a technical error likened to treason. That would be an act of sabotage. To pay more attention to another man or woman more than your husband or wife is disloyalty and opens up your marriage to a major disaster. I leave you with this question: where lies your loyalty?
