Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

The Seed of Greatness

And he said, I am Abraham’s servant. And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses Genesis 24:34

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. Genesis 26:13-14

And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses. Genesis 30:43

Greatness according to the above scriptures suggests material increase, wealth, influence and affluence. Simply put; it gives me a picture of total prosperity. These scriptures describe the greatness of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and you will notice that the adjective used to describe their greatness was increasing progressively from generation to generation. Abraham was described as greatly blessed; Isaac on the other hand became great, and continued until he became very great, while Jacob was exceedingly great.

Every time I meditate on these scriptures, I always stop to evaluate to see if I have become a better version of my father in everything because I have come to understand that this is Gods pattern. In case you don’t see yourself in that light, don’t worry, it only means there is still a lot for you to discover in your journey into greatness and this message is for you. Isaac did not become great in one day neither did Jacob. At a point in their lives they were nobodies but they discovered the secret and bang! They exploded into their greatness. You will discover yours in Jesus name!

The story of generational greatness started when God gave this promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:2 ‘I will make thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great’ and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

This came as a promise to Abraham with a condition to obey, which is, to get out of his father’s house. This he did and as we say, the rest is history. The promise was given to Abraham and it became a seed when he obeyed and generations after him entered into this greatness as they also obeyed and followed the precepts of their fathers. On the other hand, I found out that God didn’t have to promise Adam any greatness, He only commanded him to be great when He commissioned him in Genesis 1:26 ‘Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue’. This was rather a call or a commandment to become who he already was because the seed of greatness was already in him at creation. It came with the breath of God. This was part of what Adam lost when he sinned and greatness now became a promise with a condition to all the generations after him until Christ came.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: Luke 1:32

He shall be great is different from I will make him great that was promised to Abraham and his seed. So to Adam and Christ, greatness was not a promise but a seed that was deposited in their nature, they only needed to become who they were created to be. Adam lost this seed but it was restored in Christ Jesus. Therefore if we are in Christ and Christ is in us, greatness to us is no longer a promise but a seed that came as part of our redemption package and we only need to become who we are destined to be in Christ Jesus.

The bible confirms this in Galatians 3:9 that they that are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. God has blessed us with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! You are a great person and created for greatness in Christ. You are not going to be great, the seed of greatness is already in you but you need to discover and activate this seed otherwise it will remain perpetually dormant. David wrote in psalm chapter 71:21 ‘thou shall increase my greatness and comfort me on every side’ this further buttresses the fact that you already have it. You can only increase in what you already have.

Your condition or situation presently may not look anything close to greatness, that is inconsequential, the truth is if you are born again, you already have the seed of greatness and you will become great and move forward until you become exceedingly great if you can take time to search inward and discover what God has placed in you that will activate the greatness. If it’s not activated, it will remain dormant. This is why the anointing of the Holy Ghost is being released on you his month to energize and activate the greatness in you. The anointing will propel you to do something, How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good...Acts 10:38.

You MUST do something, if you want to become great even though you were created to be great. Abraham had to step out of his father’s house to embark on the journey of greatness in Genesis 12:1-2, Isaac stayed back at Gerar as commanded when he had the option of going to Egypt, and he sowed in the time of famine and that same year he experienced hundred fold increases. Genesis 26:12. Jacobs’s greatness was activated through service and he received unusual wisdom for multiplication and became exceedingly great.

Genesis 30:43 Joseph became great by consistently pursuing his dreams even in the face of despair intimidation, harassment, persecution and incarceration, he emerged at the top because he discovered what he needed to do to activate the greatness in him and became the prime minister of Egypt at the age of 30 years. Some might say after all I am still young, yes but the questions is; do you want to discover your greatness at the age of 75 like Abraham or 30 like Joseph? I think I will prefer it much earlier. Age is not a barrier to greatness, neither is your location. You can be all that God created you to be if you only discover the secret of your greatness and apply yourself to it.

For Abraham, he had to step out, for Isaac he had to remain, for Jacob he had to serve and for Joseph he had to pursue. Different strokes for different folks they say. My secret may not be yours so you need time with God to discover so that you can recover. You have all it takes; the seed of greatness is already in you. You are not going to be great you are already created and wired for greatness. God has deposited in you everything that you need to actualize your greatness, the anointing of God is on you so move and take action. You are not a mere man, you are meant for the top, you are not a back bencher you are a front runner. I challenge you today to wake up! Arise! Shine! For your light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. This is your time of the manifestation of the goodness and the greatness of God. Don’t settle for less, your greatness is about to emerge, you are at the verge of something big, don’t give up! Keep at it, stay focused! The world is about to witness the emergence of a new star. This is who you are so get into action immediately; take position, square your shoulders for it is your turn to reign.
