Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

The Prerequisite for Victory – Part 2

YOUR ACTION

The next step is for you to take action. In your quest to actualize your victory, you must realize that having being declared Victorious by the reason of your identity in Christ and having the faith that will deliver the victory is not enough. You must still need to go out and pull a fight.

1 Samuel 4:9 KJV Be strong and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight. Deuteronomy 2:24 KJV Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

It is one thing to have the victory but it’s another thing to sustain the victory. It is one thing to become a champion but it’s another thing entirely to remain an undisputed champion. Christ indeed has given you the Victory, this was concluded and finished on the cross but you must bring this victory to reality in your life by enforcing it and stamping your authority. Why must you do so? Simple, the enemy knows that you have been given the victory but he will not let go easily, he will still attempt to contest and contend with you.

If you don’t fight to recover, he will consistently strive to retain the victory. You will find an example in the text above in Deuteronomy 2:24. God declared that he has given them Sihon the king and his land but they still needed to take action and make a move to possess the land and in the course of doing that, the enemy will resist, so they have to contend with him in battle to possess what God has promised them. This is what Apostle Paul referred to as the good fight of faith in 1Timothy 6:12. The fight can only be good when you know it is predetermined before the start that the winner will be you!

Friend, you have already been declared the winner before the commencement of the fight but you must quit yourselves as men and fight. It’s time to begin to possess, it’s time for action and not to remain docile, it’s time to make a move in the direction of your faith. The proof that you believe the word of God is the action that follows after you have believed. If God has promised you a new Job for instance, and you believe it, I should think the proof of your belief will be to update your resume, write an application and begin to search for the job. The proof of desire they say is pursuit. If you desire it, you will go for it. Likewise if you believe you have the victory, you will begin to possess it and contend to win in Jesus name. Prosecuting your battles and fights to actualize your victory in life will however require that you identify the battles and make plans on how to fight. This is what they call strategy in the military circle. You must first identify and select your battles.

Luke 14:31 NIV “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?

In identifying your battles, you must first know those areas where you need victory. People don’t just go to war without planning, see above scripture. You must select your battles, identify the ones you need to fight now and the ones you need to defer. Have you been having challenges with your finances? Then it’s obvious you need financial victory. Have you been having issues maintaining a steady relationship? Then you need victory in relationship. It is very important that before you set out to fight, you must identify. It could be education, marriage, business, commitment to serving God, personal development, keeping fit or maintaining a good stature, child bearing, bringing up your children, and many more. The first rule to solving a problem is first identifying and accepting you have a problem otherwise you will just be chasing shadows. That I believe is not your portion in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 2:10-11 KJV. To whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also: for if I forgave anything, to whom I forgave it , for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; [11] Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Another important key in fighting a good fight of faith is that you must know your enemy and his devices: The word ignorant in the above text has a negative particle; it means lack of information or intelligence. By implication it also means to ignore information or intelligence. It’s a known fact that we have one enemy, the devil who is trying to steal, kill and destroy, he is constantly contending for your victory such that you have to constantly defend your title to maintain your status as the champion.

For you to successfully do this, you will require a good understanding of how the enemy operates and what are the tools in his arsenal that he has used all the while to deprive you of your victory. To ignore such information or intelligence will be disastrous to the actualization of your victory. You really need to know this in order to know the kind of weapon to deploy and neutralize the devices of the enemy.

I checked in the dictionary for the meaning of the word device and this is what it says ‘a thing made for a particular purpose; a plan or a scheme for effecting a purpose or a crafty scheme or trick. Obviously the enemy has devices, plans, tricks or schemes that he uses and to become ignorant of this will be tantamount to conceding victory to the enemy which is his ultimate plan. In my few years of experience as a born again Christian, I have come to understand some of the devices the enemy has used in time past to stop, deter or delay my victory and I have over the years fought back and reclaimed my victory. Some of these devices we know them but might not have thought them to be weapons the enemy uses to attack and delay our progress; they are deadly weapons that can truncate destinies. Some of the devices of the enemy that I have identified includes but not limited to the following; disobedience, offense, un-forgiveness, strife, fear and lots more.

I will unpack these points in subsequent editions but the key thing here is for you to identify what device he has used against you in the past and prepare to tackle it this year with a corresponding weapon, knowing certainly that you already have the victory. I pray that the Lord will deliver you from the snare of the enemy and lead you in a triumphant procession this year in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
