THANKSGIVING, THE SECRET TO ANSWERED PRAYER Part 2
Colossians 1:3 – We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you…
IT’S AN ATTITUDE
Thanksgiving is your attitude of gratitude for what you believe He has done even though you are yet to receive the physical manifestation. If you are thankful before receiving, thanking Him after receiving only shows that your thankful action is not based on what you want from Him but an attitude of thanksgiving in all situations. When you know how to think deep, you will know how to give thanks – Philippians 4:8. The mere thought of His goodness will motivate thanksgiving and every time you thank Him, you get reminded of your victorious status and that can only provoke you into more thanksgiving. A joyful attitude will keep you in perfect peace for patience and endurance to have their full course while awaiting the manifestation. Waiting anxiously can be frustrating. Thanksgiving attitude is the antidote to anxiety. Friend, the period between asking and receiving is subject to your thanksgiving attitude. Colossians 4:2 – Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving…
THE KEY TO HIS PRESENCE
Psalms 100:4 – Enter into His gates with thanksgiving [and] into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, [and] bless His name. Thanksgiving is the key that unlocks the gate into His presence: it gives you direct access to Him. Prayer draws you closer to God but praise and thanksgiving draw God to you because He is moved by your praise and not your pain. God dwells in the praises of His people, therefore, every time you approach with thanksgiving, you command His attention and if you have His attention, you can be guaranteed that He will listen and attend to your request. Stop approaching God complaining: you may end up staying outside the gate. Approach Him with thanksgiving and you will find the gate wide open and God waiting at the gate to usher you into His presence.
