The root word for Abundance is Abound. Abound is from two words ‘A’ and ‘Bound’. Bound means to be restricted, limited, caged, inhibited. A on the other hand means not or without. Abound therefore means without limitation or limit. To walk in supernatural abundance means to be limitless to God’s divine and supernatural grace. Everything man made always comes to an end but the supernatural Abundance of God is inexhaustible.
Genesis 1: 20-22, 28
20Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
During the creation of the heavens and the earth, God simply commanded Abundance into the seas and Air. The regenerated human spirit has been commanded to abound and is therefore configured to walk in all round abundance spiritually, mentally, socially, materially, emotionally, financially and in all ramifications. The divine life of abundance we have been ushered into through the blood of Jesus is that of much more.
Levels of the Abundant Life
This is the level where the child of God has just what he needs for the situation. This is the place of sufficiency; where one has just enough.
2 Corinthians 9:8
8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work.(RSV)
We must realise that the believer operating on this level is operating in Abundance and lacks nothing because there is just enough for his needs to be met. The believer might however not be able to be a blessing to others because he has just enough for himself.
More than Enough
This is the level where the believer has enough for the present situation and has more. This is the place of having enough and left over.
Matthew 14: 20.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
The people had enough for themselves, everyone around them and even had a take way. This is a level where the there is excess but a definite excess.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
This is the abundance that transcends into future generations.
This is the place of perpetual and permanent divine provision. This is the level where the abundance is eternal and unending. This is when we tap into the all that God has for us as His children. This is the level of continuous overflow from God’s divine wealth and eternal resource.
It is a known saying that human wants are insatiable and cannot be satisfied. The Word of God however says He will satisfy us with the fatness of His house and we will continuously drink from a river that never runs dry. God wants us to enjoy of His overflow and unending riches and wealth in all areas of our lives.
The Abundant life is yours, live it in Christ
