Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

RIGHT USAGE

Delivered into our hands today is a double barrel weapon to completely annihilate the enemy. We have in one hand the Powerful and indisputable name of Jesus and on the other hand the ever potent, incorruptible blood of Jesus. Friends, the enemy is in trouble and I see Satan fall like a pack of cards under the heavy hammer of this double artillery in Jesus name.

It is good to have a weapon but what is more important is to know how to apply the weapon to get a desired result. In this piece, I will be focusing on one of the weapons which we have used, misused, over used, and if possible underutilized. What I have discovered over the years is that at times it works for us and most times it doesn’t. This is not because the weapon itself lacks the ability to deliver on a regular basis but because we use it wrongly in most cases.

Acts 3:6-8: Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them walking, leaping, and praising God. NKJV

If you take a look at the above scripture, the lame man at the beautiful gate received strength in his legs and began to walk and one can immediately conclude that the name of Jesus Christ was responsible for the delivery of this miracle. In a way Yes, but I do not completely agree with that. The weapon itself cannot function except it is properly applied. The real secret to taking effective delivery of our miracles when the name of Jesus is applied is in Peter’s response to the Jews in Verse 16 of the above scriptures:

Acts 3:16: And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. NKJV

In emphasis here is ‘Faith in the Name’ It’s not Just calling his name but you must develop an inherent faith in that name for it to work for you. A lot of people call the name  as a shock absorber or as an exclamation. Even the devil knows the name and they tremble. The difference between when you call the name and it delivers to you and when it doesn’t is simple: calling the name in faith. What does it mean to have faith in His name? I will like to answer this way: Don’t you think Peter could have thought that “suppose what I have to give does not work for this guy? Wouldn’t I be embarrassed for attempting to heal this guy? Am I sure this name will work”? You will agree with me that if he had failed, even the lame man will abuse him. But no, he did not entertain these thoughts but he applied the name , grabbed the guy by the hand and he began to walk. Hallelujah!!!

Remember Peter was there when Jesus sent them out with nothing but His name and they returned reporting that “demons where subject to us in your Name”. He was there when Jesus sent them on a mission without money or purse but His name and they returned lacking nothing, He was there in John 16:23 when Jesus declared to them that whatsoever you ask in my name shall be done, he was there in Mark 16:17 when Jesus delivered the name to them as believers to use as a weapon. All of these experiences reinforced Peters faith in the name. He had seen it work and he was so sure that it will work for him.

If only we can transfer the kind of faith we exhibit when we administer a doctor’s prescription. We are so sure that the drug will work to the extent that we start feeling well even before taking the drug. If only we can trust this name just as we trust the name of a mare man to open a door for us either because of his influence or power, then can we start to take effective delivery of our miracles through the use of this effective weapon. Have faith in His name and see how you will command result in all your endeavors.

I look forward to your testimonies….
