Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

Rewards of A Godly Character Part 1

Rewards of a Godly Character Part 1

Galatians 6:7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I will be highlighting some rewards of the possessing and manifesting of a godly character in our daily lives. As in other areas of our lives, the cardinal law of sowing and reaping applies. Remember, a person’s character is the prophecy of their destiny. The following are some of the rewards:-

Trust with God and man.

1 Samuel 9:6 – And he said to him, “Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he says surely comes to pass. So let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go.”

2 Timothy 2: 21If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified , and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

When people see you demonstrate godly character on a constant basis, they begin to see you as reliable and trustworthy and trust is the basis for every lasting relationship, be it in church or in the world. As you are aware, trust is earned and not gifted. Character is the currency with which you earn it. So give the people godly character, and then you will win their trust. Your gift and calling may bring people to you but it is your character that keeps them with you.

Promotion

Psalm 75:6-7For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge : he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Matthew 25:19-29After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ ……..

Your character sets you up for promotion or demotion. Everyone has character but not everyone has good character. Promotion is not by grace, prayer and fasting, it is a function of performance. God is a ‘rewarder’ and not a freeloader. As you are aware, no company promotes someone with poor performance and nor will God promote or encourage poor character. That is why you will find out that certain tests come to you more often than to others because God is waiting for you to pass the test so that He can promote you. You determine the season of your promotion by your character. By God’s agenda we all belong to the top but we need to develop character to match in order to walk in the fullness of all things. You cannot be careless with your character and expect God to promote you. A person’s harvest in life is totally dependent on the seeds they sow, so it is up to you to determine how high you want to fly in life. God is an equal opportunity employer.
