Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

Love – Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Galatians 5:22-24 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

When the new testament of the Bible was written there were for primary Greek words to describe the concept of love. They are as follow;-

Concepts of Love in the Greek context

Phileo – based on mutual satisfaction and can feel disappointed, to be fond of, from the standpoint of feeling, brotherly love, friendship

Agape – Divine Love a strong, ardent, tender compassionate, devotion to the well being of someone. To regard and make much of someone based on principle.

Eros – Erotic – self seeking love, sexual love, sensual, carnal impulses to satisfy or gratify the sexual desires of the flesh.

Stergo – limited to family, natural affection, love of parent for their children, love of people for a nation, and the love of a do for his master.

Agape is the God kind of love. It is this word that Paul used in the above scripture. This is the highest level of love. All the other types of love are inferior and have strings attached. The Human kind of love and the God kind of love can be differentiated as follow:-

God showed us the His kind of love by sending Jesus to for us when we did not deserve it. Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
