KEYS IN THANKSGIVING – PART 1

KEYS IN THANKSGIVING – PART 1

MAY 19

The biblical concept of the word “thanksgiving” does not depend on something one has, or has received. This word has nothing to do with outward circumstances, but rather, has to do with one’s spiritual attitude toward life.

Thanksgiving is a walk of faith in the ability of the Father. It is based on an understanding of the nature of God. We need to understand that the natural man’s mind cannot comprehend thanksgiving especially when happenings don’t seem favorable. Many are discontent and unhappy because of their current situation or circumstance. It is however pertinent to remember the Word of The Lord to be thankful IN all things.

Being thankful in all things involves two keys ‘Revelation’ and ‘Relationship’.

REVELATION
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17, 18 KJV)

Friends, giving thanks in all things is not having a ‘what will be will be’ attitude towards life but rather walking in the revelation that your victory is secure. Knowing the situation you are going through will end in your deliverance and testimony with the assurance that these too shall pass. We need to realize what we see will fade away because a temporal situations always come to an end , howbeit; the things we are yet to see manifest are eternal and will remain and abound . Where you are is where you are and this is different from where God is taking you. Thanksgiving is not just what we do; it is walking in a realm of gratitude and appreciation based on the end we see. Let’s consider a ball that is thrown in the air, the law of gravity operates and will force the ball that is heavier than the air on earth will fall to the ground. No matter how far or how many times you throw the ball, it will fall. If you however throw this same ball in water, the ball will float because water is heavier than the ball. The realm you operate in will determine the result you see. We are resting on a God who has the capacity to carry us. You cannot be stranded, fail or fall because the greater one lives on your inside. God is for you; hence nothing can move or shake you from your divine position which is thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is walking in another realm and revelation where you have already seen your prayers answered. People will want to judge your thanksgiving based on what they see physically, you must however live from the place of victory and declare a lifting when every other thing is cast down. Your thanksgiving is a declaration of the surety of your victory.
