How to live in divine abundance – Part 1
Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)
It is said that if wishes were horses, beggars will ride. It is not enough to wish to prosper; you must engage the operational strategy to make it a reality. There are keys you need to engage to live in divine abundance. This week, I will show you some of them. It is important for you to know that God is the source of divine abundance and your ultimate goal should be to stay connected with Him. Any abundance outside of God is temporary and limited. For example, a person may have money but may lack peace of mind. Divine abundance encompasses every area of human existence. It encompasses the spirit, soul and body of mankind. The following are important keys to walking in divine abundance:
Walking in truth
Reading about abundance and quoting relevant scriptures are good but not enough to guarantee you a life of abundance. Parrots can repeat words but that does not imply that they comprehend and apply the words they are speaking into their lives. It is the doing of God’s word, and I mean every word, that God instructs you that sets the foundation of divine abundance for you. It is not enough to do things but to do it the way it pleases God. That is what sets you up for a life of abundance. When pleasing God and carrying out His instruction are more important to you than your desire for personal prosperity, then divine prosperity starts to come on you and overtake you. Paul said ‘I have not disobeyed the heavenly vision’. The psalmist says in psalm 27:8; when you said ‘seek my face’ My heart said to you “your face Lord I will seek”. So, obedience is the first fundamental key to a life of abundance in Christ. Anytime I pick up the Bible to read, I first decide to obey anything God reveals to me in the course of my study before starting to study. So when I pick up the instruction, I run with it. Many times in the course of my obedience I end up carrying out instructions that lead to my personal prosperity. Divine abundance is your birthright but its activation is on the other side of your obedience.
You have to be consistently persistent. Many Christians are ‘great starters’ but not all of them are ‘great finishers.’ This is one of the ‘missing ingredients’ in the lives of so many Christians today – there’s no consistency. They get inspired and excited about the potential we have and the kind of life that is available to us but they don’t always demonstrate consistency in their attempt to achieve these things. Not only is obedience a must, but being consistent in our obedience is a must as well! …but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous. Proverbs 3:33 (AMP)
Consistency will produce God’s blessing in your life – it does and still does for me. If you aren’t consistent in living a life of obedience, if it’s not your way of life, then it’s not likely that you’ll experience divine abundance continually in your life.
I want to clarify this: having the blessing on your house doesn’t mean that you’ll never have adversity – what it does mean is that it will not triumph over you!
I am committed to pursuing all that God has told me to do. I know that the seeds of obedience and consistency that I have planted over the years are why God has blessed this ministry with the most faithful members.
Matthew 6:33, John 8:31-32, James 1:25, Ephesians 6:9b, Hebrews 2:1
Personal declaration for the day
I will be obedient and consistent and God’s blessing will manifest in every area of my life!
