Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

Galatians 3:21-4:7

Summary
The law is critically examined in today’s reading. It is communicated that the law isn’t against the promises of God. Paul however explained that the presence of the law makes it pertinent for believers to receive the promise by faith in Christ.
The law is described as a tutour to bring us to Christ in order to receive justification by faith. The new life of the believer is described as one putting on Christ making all one in the Spirit irrespective of our heritage as either Jew or Greek or status as bond or free.
Believers are Abraham’s seed and heirs to the promise. We are encouraged as heirs to mature and quit behaving as babes in order to inherit our possession.
He further explained that under the law, we were just like slaves ordered around without any say. The coming of Jesus redeemed those under the law and gave them power to receive the adoption of sons because God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts.

Life Application
The promises of God are for all who believe in Christ. We need to realise we have been justified by our faith in Christ and need to accept the grace of God.

Personal Declaration
I have been saved by faith in Christ Jesus.

Reading – Galatians 3:21-4:7

21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

Children of God

23 Before the coming of this faith,[a] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christhave clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces[b] of the world. But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[c] Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[d] Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
