Developing a lifestyle of Integrity and Holiness
Daniel 1:8a – But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat.
Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Adopting a lifestyle of integrity and holiness start with a personal quality decision. You don’t live honestly and truthfully by chance or accident you do so by intention. Intentionality precedes a routine. So you need to examine yourself, deal with yourself on the subject and then come to a conclusion by deciding to live a life of integrity and holiness. It is purely by personal choice and nothing else. If anyone tells you they walk integrity and holiness without proper deliberation first, such a person in not telling the truth and you should avoid such a one. From the above scripture, in the book of Daniel, it is crystal clear that Daniel intentionally decided to live in integrity and holiness, so it’s over to you.
Adjusting your lifestyle to your decision
With every decision comes a responsibility. The responsibility that comes with living in integrity and holiness is personal adjustment. These include adjustment in your values, mindset, principles, company and life structure to name a few. The acid test for the quality of your decision is your readiness to act and make required changes. Jesus said, “happy shall you be when you do these things” not when you decide but when you actually do it. So be a doer not a talker only.
Keep your focus on the rewards of integrity and Holiness and learn from other people’s mistakes
Failure is a result of broken focus. So, you need to hold your decision to live in integrity and holiness very dearly. And one major way to do that is by regularly revisiting the rewards of living in integrity and holiness and the consequence of living otherwise by learning from what became of people that lived carelessly. Learn from your mistakes and the peril of others. Make a monthly rededication to a lifestyle of integrity and holiness and you will constantly walk under open heavens.
I see you enjoy the reward of living a life of integrity toward man and God with holiness onto God. Amen
