Galatians 3:13 – Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
Genesis 3:15-19 -And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” To the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
There are three types of death that came as a result of the fall of man. Spiritual death, Physical death and material death. As I explained in my previous writings, death is not cessation, it is separation. Death is not final; it is transition and a departure. Spiritual death is the separation of the human spirit from the Spirit of God. This result is damnation in hell. Physical death is the separation of the spirit of man from his body. This results in the return of the body to the dust and the soul and spirit to God to give account of your stewardship on earth. If the person accepted Jesus Christ before when they were on earth, they go to heaven, if not they go to hell.
The material death is the separation of a person from material (financial and earthly goods) that God has provided for them to enjoy. This results in lack and poverty.
Poverty and lack came with the fall. After the fall, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Eden means delight. So mankind was expelled from the garden of delight. When God made man, he put him in the Garden of Eden to keep and protect the garden and to eat freely of all the fruit except the forbidden fruit. But Adam disobeyed and they were sent out of the garden to toil and sweat before they could eat. From the definition of economics we are told that we are to choose from scarce resources meaning you cannot have all that you want in life. This came with the curse.
But thank God, Christ Jesus redeemed us from the curse of toiling and scarcity. In John 10:10, Jesus said, I am come that you may have life in abundance, to the full until it overflows. To be in debt or in the red is to be materially dead or buried below the surface. Deuteronomy 28 says you shall be above only and never beneath. To work like an elephant and live like an ant is a curse that came from the fall. But you have been raised together with Christ and you are seated with him in heavenly places. You are a new creation and no longer in a fallen condition.
To come out financially, you must know that you have been redeemed from curse of poverty and lack. Then you must believe and accept your new status. You then have to engage the laws of prosperity which include tithing, sowing material seed in faith, declaring the word of God to water your seed, avoid unforgiveness and strife to prevent weeds from devouring your harvest. Never stop giving, make giving your lifestyle because your harvest will only come when your clouds are full.
Ecclesiastes 11:3 – If clouds are full of water, they pour rain upon the earth. The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead has raised you out from among the dead and has bought you into life so don’t tolerate poverty or lack any more. You are not the poor trying to be rich, you are the rich the devil is trying to make poor.

Questions for Reflection:
- Do you know how rich you are in Christ?
- How much of the riches have you claimed and are enjoying?
- Do you know debt is material death?
I live in abundance in Christ Jesus
