Revealing Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing

ACTIVATING SIGNS AND WONDERS

ACTIVATING SIGNS AND WONDERS

January 13

John 5:1-9
After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. (John 5:1-9 KJV)

A lot of folks with challenging situations wait day and night for a sign that will set them up for a wonder just as that man by the pool of Bethesda. He continuously waited for a sign not knowing the will of God was for him to be the sign that would bring Glory to God.

Many wait for a physical move to bring about a spiritual change. Some want something on the outside to solve a situation within but we need to, by revelation, overturn every situation from the realm of the spirit to bring about the signs and wonders. The plan of God for us is not to always seek for a sign but that our lives would tell of the signs and wonders.

When that disease is healed, you become the sign and proof that others will recover too. When that addiction is broken, you become a sign to others suffering that there is hope of restoration for them and that nothing is too difficult for God.

Keys in activating Signs and Wonders:

Focus on Jesus
Focus refers to a point of concentration. In optics, it refers to a point in which the rays of light meet after reflection or refraction at which an image is formed. Brethren, it is paramount to realize keeping our focus on Jesus is an intentional effort and must be deliberate. We must focus until we see only Jesus. We need to also realize that just because everyone is focusing on a way doesn’t make it the way. Everyone else was focusing on the pool that was usually troubled seasonally but you have Jesus with you always, so there is no need for delay anymore.

The scriptures declare in Hebrews 12:2b ‘ Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.’ The man at the pool focused on the sign so much that he was filled with excuses why he couldn’t be healed even when Jesus asked him if he wanted to be made whole, h could give a clear answer. Your physical condition is not a limitation to your future. Quit giving excuses of why you can’t and start seeing why you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

We need to make Jesus our focus because it is the presence of God that activates the wonders and makes our joy full. Wherever the Spirit of The Lord is, there is liberty, hence, no burden or yoke will be able to withstand the power of God in you. The disappointment he faced for many years came to an end because Jesus was present. Friends, your boat will never sink because Jesus is aboard. We need to continually gaze on Him and we won’t be disappointed.

Absolute Faith and Believe
The scriptures declare in Numbers 23:19 that ‘ God is not a man to lie to you’. The Word of God is loaded with signs and wonders. Long standing situations and circumstances will give way if we dare to believe God and His Word. The angel Gabriel announced to the virgin Mary she would conceive and bare a son of the Holy Spirit; surely this had never before happened but blessed is she that believes for there shall be a performance of those things told her from the Lord- Luke 1:45. One question that should linger in our minds when doubt wants to set in is, who else can I trust if not God? God is in charge of the affairs of men and won’t allow you to be overwhelmed by troubles.

Absolute Obedience
Walking in Obedience is another key that will unlock signs and wonders. We could, sometimes, receive instructions that seem unreasonable or outrightly out of line from our thinking pattern, but we must decide to walk in obedience. Jesus gave an instruction to fill wine pots with water which eventually turned to wine in John 2. The prophet Elisha told the leper, Captain Naaman, to wash in the river Jordan 7 times in 2 Kings 5, Jesus told Peter to launch into the deep for a great catch in Luke 5. Unlocking our financial freedom, divine health, and promotion will all require going outside of our comfort zone to walking in obedience to His instructions.
Our obeying the instruction shows we believe His Word for our turn around. When the Holy Spirit impresses on your heart to sow a seed, obey and you will see the hand and move of God.

Maintain your Fellowship with the Father
It is possible we are tempted with the idea of running to God when there is crisis and walk away when the issues have been resolved, but we need to understand that living and being an epitome of signs and wonders requires abiding in God in constant fellowship. Paul, the apostle, said in Philippians 3:10b, ‘that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.’ The more we get to know Him, the more we experience His power and the working of His might. God wants to prove Himself in our lives but He doesn’t want us to be distant from Him. When we maintain fellowship with the Father, then we can enjoy divine provision, protection and the abundant life of God.

Friends, the natural cannot cause changes in the supernatural; rather the eternal will make every temporal situation shift. The challenges we face are temporal and will eventually give way by the power of God. It is your season to experience signs and wonders.
